UIUX, Brand Identity

Farmers Markets are an important link in the sale of agricultural products worldwide. They contribute significantly to increasing the number of people who want fresh, niche, and local food, which is also known as "food less traveled.”

Baskit is an app that lists the local suppliers that participate in the farmers market near you and allows you to order items without having to go in person.

PROBLEM

Shoppers want better access to Farmers Market.

CHALLENGE

Is there a way to make the Farmers Market experience more accessible? Can we leverage technology to expand the scope of farmers market for both suppliers and shoppers?

GOAL

1. Help users get fresh and niche items without having to go the market in person.
2. Reflect the experience of shopping at the Farmers Market
3. Encourage users to get exposed to a wider variety of foods.

SOLUTION

Baskit is an app that lists the local suppliers that participate in the farmers market near you and allows you to order items without having to go in-person.

1. Offer recommendations that users can explore.

Shows the list of recommendations of the markets, stores, and items. Users can easily discover markets with the information when the markets are open and explore niche seasonal items.

2. Provide Information

Contain the information users are looking for and display UIs in an engaging and clear way. Users can get real time updates on the availability of the items.

EXPERIENCE PRINCIPLES

Accessibility

Focus on the discovery of farmers and products. Users want to get faster and easier access to the items.

Clear Hierarchy

Easy to onboard shoppers, farmers, and delivery man. Users don’t want to spend too much time and effort to get started.

Simplicity & Consistency

Simple and minimalistic design that prevents clutter. Users don’t want to be overloaded with too much information.

USER TESTING

I’ve conducted interviews with a wide range of interviewees from different fields to gain insights of the broader users considering the fact that the shopping experience and behaviors differ among the people.
